1. Who We Are

SolVisIQ ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application for iOS and Android that provides AI-powered solar production forecasting, real-time inverter monitoring, and financial analysis for photovoltaic system owners.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Location Data

SolVisIQ requests access to your device's location (GPS coordinates) to calculate your solar forecast. This is the core function of the app — accurate forecasting requires knowing where your panels are.

• Location is processed on-device and used to fetch weather and irradiance data for your coordinates.
• We do not store your precise GPS coordinates on our servers.
• You can enter your location manually if you prefer not to grant location permission.

2.2 Device & Usage Data (Firebase)

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to identify and fix crashes.

• Firebase Analytics collects anonymised usage events (e.g., which screens are opened, which features are used). No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
• Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports including device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace at the time of the crash. This data is used exclusively to fix bugs.
• Firebase data is processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy. firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

2.3 In-App Purchase Data

SolVisIQ offers optional paid subscriptions (Monthly, Annual) and a one-time Lifetime purchase. All payment processing is handled exclusively by:

• Apple App Store (iOS) — governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Store (Android) — governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not receive, store, or process your credit card or payment information. We only receive a confirmation of purchase status (active / inactive) from the respective platform.

2.4 User-Entered Configuration Data

To use the app, you may enter information about your solar system (inverter brand, panel capacity, battery size, electricity tariff, etc.). This data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.5 Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any account credentials — no account is required to use SolVisIQ.
• We do not collect your inverter login credentials. Inverter connections are established directly from your device to your inverter on your local network.
• We do not display third-party advertising that tracks you across apps or websites.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the solar forecasting features.
• To diagnose and fix app crashes and technical issues.
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and prioritise new features.
• To verify your subscription status and unlock paid features.

We do not use your data for profiling, targeted advertising, or any purpose not listed above.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly as needed:

• Google Firebase — analytics and crash reporting (see Section 2.2).
• Apple / Google — purchase verification (see Section 2.3).
• Open-Meteo / weather APIs — your approximate location (not precise GPS) is sent to weather APIs to retrieve irradiance and forecast data. These requests do not include any device identifier.

We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users, provided such disclosure is required by applicable legal process.

5. Data Retention

Because we do not maintain user accounts or store personal data on our servers, there is no server-side retention period for your personal information. System configuration data lives on your device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.

Firebase Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted by Google. Crashlytics reports are retained for 90 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right of access — to know what data we hold about you.
• Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data.
• Right to restriction — to limit how we process your data.
• Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to data portability — to receive your data in a machine-readable format.

Because SolVisIQ does not store personal data on servers, most of these rights are satisfied by the fact that no server-side personal profile exists. For Firebase-related data, you can opt out of analytics collection by disabling analytics in your device settings or contacting us at office@solvisiq.com.

7. Your Rights (California / CCPA Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. For any requests, contact office@solvisiq.com.

8. Children's Privacy

SolVisIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Inverter communication happens over your local network and is not routed through our infrastructure.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
